I can wish you no greater joy than to fall in love with love.
I'll admit it, I am. I'm in love with the tension, the first kiss, the first dance, that not knowing where you're headed, but knowing the one you want to be at your side. And I think by the massive romance industry, plenty of people agree with me. Real life is definitely uncertain. People are--well, people. Life changes, things change, expectations change, and so people change. Sometimes it's for the better, sometimes not. But you can't let that affect the way you treat your heart. Every time I open a romance book, I fall a little in love again. And get some dirty under the corset action--I'm a closet historical lover. Movies, TV shows, poems, and especially books, have a way of opening up a heart and burrowing something of warmth deep inside. To be honest, I'm a little terrified of books with sad endings. A book should be this beautiful ride you get on and leads you down a path you'd never go down on your own, but damn it, don't make me love someone and then kill them off you sadistic bastard. That's right, I hear your cruel laughs on the other side of the keyboard. More than that, I feel the angst the author felt when they wrote and killed someone so dearly beloved, the masochists. I try not to be afraid of love, but to fall into it, ready to fall in love with whoever happens to catch my heart, book character or not. I hope everyone gets the chance to be so lucky.

Well, damn. I thought that, too.
Lately I've been hearing about romance authors being shamed for--well, writing romance. I've always thought this was a particularly ridiculous thing to be against. Do you know how many romances have spurned on the start of lifelong book affairs? Think about it. Really. I mean, can you think of what would get a younger reader more interested in reading than a love story? I know I sure as hell can't think of one. Before I fell in love with other genres, in that awkward period between reading young children's books and the "classic literature" that gets shoved down your throat in school, I found myself completely enamored with a dirty romance. The couple were stuck on some island, and they were caught between using the condoms for water or nookie. Those characters didn't drink much. :) So why on earth should there be any shaming. Yes, I write dirty. No, I don't practice any scenes. And, yes, I am still a writer. Even if my books were just one dirty scene after another (which they kind of are) I'd still be a writer. I write love stories and I write dirty. And I don't think any writer who has the privilege to do so should ever be shamed for it. If you don't respect the genre, then please, still be a creature of class and don't insult a person you know little to nothing about. Even if you don't like the books--they're not for you. That's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. Write a review. Tell the author it wasn't to your taste. But never tell an author they're not a "real writer." Be kind and courteous. Kindergartners are taught it. I think we adults can manage the same. I love a romance that appreciates a curvaceous figure. This could be because I'm an American and quite a few of us have curves and that's the norm, but I feel like there's been a bit of hate directed toward the proverbial winter cushion and I'm glad to see it treated for what it is--squishy and wonderful. But why is it I see so many romances with curvaceous heroines, but not a lot of them with curvy heroes?
Why is that? I don't know how fair it is that women get to be original and designed in a reader's mind, but the fellows get to float away in a stiff wind. Or starve to death three hours after eating because they've got no reserves. Or is it that so many women feel the same way that we just don't care? Like, it's not a thing even worth mentioning? I also don't want my hero dying from a clogged artery either, but... I feel like there's a comfy in between that's not being shown. What do you think? How are my hotties doing tonight? Anything good going on? Tonight, I'll be working on something good and sweaty. That cardio that no one seems to mind if you catch my drift. :) Now what are you up to in these late hours of the night? Something good, I hope. Here's to the dirty and all of those that make it so! Darlings, how did the weekend go for you? Did you head out to the beach and take a look at all of the suntan glistening bodies and the occasional revealing wave? Find a secluded spot among the trees and have a picnic worth remembering? Well, the day’s still young if you’d like to honor some of our vets by “standing at attention” so to speak.
Now, I’m off to go write something worth daydreaming about and with a good deal of fireworks. Have fun! Now what do we have here? Stopping by to peek into the Madam's notebook, I see. Well, I'd better start writing something good in here to keep you interested, then.
So, I suppose we should talk about why you're here. You want some sexy, don't you? Well, I don't give away my sexy for free. But I might share a couple of books from other authors you might need to know about, but... I say we type out a random sexy sentence. What do you say? "Hot breath tickled her ear, bottom lip skimming her neck..." Do you have a sexy sentence you want to share? Darlings, I've got a good one for y'all. Any of you bucked a cowboy, lately? Are you ready for the ride? Well, dolls, then let's get to bucking! **~~~New Release~~~** Bucking the Cowboy: An Erotic Contemporary Western Romance Explicit Country Boy Hotness! You've been warned! Rusty never dreamed he'd be tempted to break from the humdrum day life of working pastures and nighttime rush of riding bulls. Never again. Office manager of the Coalside Ranch, Darlene had been burned by men—the danger addicts, the adrenaline junkies; so much so that she barely got over the last one. It was stupid to fall in love with men who had a passion for danger. So why couldn’t she stop herself from daydreaming about the cowboy who lingered in her office? When a night of riding bulls brings lusts to the forefront—can they pull away before they lose it all to temptation? Or will desires trump fears? Only two things are for sure: Cowboys are meant to ride...and be ridden. http://amzn.to/1TrJdB7 #Romance #eartg #erotic #erotica #hotdamn #mustread |
